Artist Anton Kats initiated the A-Letheia project to engage with Athenian periptera (kiosks)
as a response to their gradual disappearance.
He invited artists and residents to explore the erasure of these architectures of memory
and to rewrite the public environment.
The project also seeks to celebrate the kiosk, a mercantile and communal space,
as a modern-day sculptural monument.
The structure is located on Fokionos Negri,
a street covering a river that originates from a nearby mountain.

The disused kiosk no longer disseminates news, but it stands on flowing water -
the carrier of memory and information.
Ancient Greek myths tell of two rivers:
one that calls forth memories of previous incarnations,
and one that washes over them.
Consciousness becomes a dance between remembering and forgetting.

The friend request to water forms the kiosk’s nucleus,
surrounded by empty shelves still bearing the prices of what was once being sold.
The stillness of captured water and the flowing water beneath the street’s concrete
are joined by a third state: audible geomagnetic ocean and brain waves.

I’m gonna take you higher than you ever

I’m gonna bring you closer to the river

I’m gonna take you, fill you with the thunder

I’m gonna bring you closer to my life

You’re like gravity pulling me, gravity pulling me

You’re like gravity pulling me, gravity pulling me

Pulling me

Mutual affection, molecular reaction

For every action there’s an opposite reaction

Multiplication, love and variation

First constellation, equal stimulation

You’re like gravity pulling me, gravity pulling me

You’re like gravity pulling me, gravity pulling me

Pulling me

I’ve been to all of the stars in the sky

And I still can’t believe it

Love conquers all

You’re like gravity pulling me, gravity pulling me

You’re like gravity pulling me, gravity pulling me

Pulling me

You can’t escape the gravity

The law of relativity

But if you solve the mystery

You’ll never grow old

The point of probability

The secret of [?]

The multiplier mystery

You’ll never grow old
